"Learning volleyball from the best! 🏐🌟 2x Paralympic gold medalist @emmaschieckk joined us at @bgc_indy for an incredible #ParityWeek grant-funded volleyball clinic! Emma led the girls through a stretching routine, various volleyball drills, and passed around her gold medal for everyone to check out. While 2024 Parity Week by Gainbridge® might be “wrapped,” the impact of the program will undoubtedly be felt for years to come. In its second year, Parity Week by Gainbridge® was an inspiring display of collaboration, innovation, and investment in the future of women’s sports.
This year, Gainbridge, Parity, and the Women’s Sports Foundation teamed up to create a nationwide program that would span the entire month of November. Together, the organizations combined financial support, community engagement, and marquee events to create lasting impact for girls and women in sports and education.
To celebrate an incredible 2024 Parity Week by Gainbridge®, we’ve quantified the remarkable achievements that took place as part of this year’s celebration. Here are the standout highlights from the 2024 program:
- Grant Impact & Distribution: When all was said and done, Gainbridge distributed $172,000 in grants to 22 organizations that are “investing in the future of women's sports.” These funds were used to create special events and support pathways for women & girls to participate in sports at every level.
- Broad Reach: In total, there were 26 special “2024 Parity Week by Gainbridge” events spread across 19 cities in the U.S. These special events served more than 2,000 participants, creating a national dialogue and geographically diverse range of events for girls & women to participate in.
- Athlete Leadership: 28 professional women athletes from Parity’s roster played a vital role, leading programming, workshops, and events across the country. The involvement of Parity Athletes underscored the importance of athlete-driven advocacy and mentorship, and reinforced how important it is for girls to “see her to be her.”
- Community Engagement: Events ranged from panel discussions and training sessions to community outreach programs and 5Ks, all aimed at raising awareness and generating actionable solutions for the challenges that face women & girls in sports.
The program's impact demonstrates that when communities and businesses rally behind women athletes and create opportunities for girls in sports, the ripple effects can lead to lasting change.
By celebrating the power of sports to foster equity and inclusion, Gainbridge, Parity and the Women’s Sports Foundation really created something special that brought together athletes, communities, and businesses that are all committed to "investing in the future of women's sports."
Parity Week by Gainbridge continues to be a beacon for innovation and collaboration in women's sports. With its success in 2024, it’s clear that this movement is only growing stronger, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
