Winter Paralympics 2026: Team USA Paralympians to Watch in Milano Cortina

Written by Skyler Espinoza | February 24, 2026 at 9:56 PM

Quick Facts:

  • At least 4 Parity Paralympians are heading to Milano Cortina 2026 across para snowboard and para alpine skiing, including 4-time Paralympic medalist Brenna Huckaby (3 gold, 1 bronze)
  • Dani Aravich is one of the few athletes to qualify for both Summer and Winter Paralympics; competed in Tokyo 2020 for track & field and pivoted to Nordic skiing the same year
  • Paralympic athletes are fighting for equality and visibility: Brenna Huckaby advocates for prestige and participation in para sport, while Dani Aravich co-founded Culxtured (with Brenna) to make Paralympic sport mainstream

Looking for your next obsession after watching Olympians break records and absolutely dazzle? Don’t go anywhere because the Paralympics have next. We’re so excited to introduce you to a few of our Parity Paralympians who are so much more than their sports. These athletes are ready to fight for Team USA glory, while also continuing the fight for Paralympic equality and prestige. And now, without further ado, here are some of our favorite Regine Delle Nevi heading to Italy in March!

Brenna Huckaby

Sport: Para Snowboard

Hometown: Baton Rouge, LA

Paralympic Appearances: 2018, 2022, 2026

Paralympic Medal Count: 3x Gold, 1x Bronze

Brenna is something of Winter Paralympics royalty, with 4 medals to her name. As befits her royal status, Brenna is a consistent and constant advocate for the dignity and prestige of the Paralympics. She also is fighting for more visibility and participation in para sport, as doing so will create bigger fields and more opportunities for above the knee amputees like herself. Brenna overcame teenage cancer, and is now mom to two beautiful girls. For any athletes out there who are wondering how to balance being a parent with competing, Brenna has the strategy locked down.

Kate Delson

Sport: Para Snowboard

Hometown: San Diego, CA

Paralympic Debut: 2026

An addict of: the journey

Kate is all about the process and the people. Whether she’s on top of podiums or perfecting handshakes with teammates, you’re sure to see a smile on her face and the faces of those around her. When she’s not shredding gnar, you can find Kate being unbearably cool by also playing electric guitar. Some people just get all the talent and there’s none left over for the rest of us. Check out her music!

Allie Johnson

Sport: Para Alpine Skiing

Hometown: Western Springs, IL

Paralympic Appearances: 2022, 2026

Say Yes To: The Dress!

Allie has been skiing since she was 4 years old, but it wasn’t until 20 years after her debut on the slopes that she would think about racing. When her co-worker (and future coach) asked her, “Why not?” Allie didn’t have an answer, and pinned on her first bib. But it was not all smooth sailing from there. Allie’s very first downhill race would shatter both her fibula and tibia, and leave Allie with more than physical scars. But Allie lives and breathes resilience, and made her first Paralympic team less than four years later. An animal lover through and through, Allie’s special boy Finnegan is never far from his momma’s side. And although her racing career has put her work as a therapeutic horse riding instructor on hold, Allie still loves horses and advocates for their calm, healing presence for all.

Dani Aravich

Sport: Para Snowboard

Hometown: Boise, ID

Paralympic Appearances: 2020, 2022, 2026

Nickname: Biathlon Bandit

Dani is one of the few athletes to ever have qualified for both a Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. Dani was a D1 track and field athlete at Butler, and, years after she thought her competing days were over, qualified for the 400m T47 at the Tokyo Games. But the same year she qualified for Tokyo, she gave her heart to Nordic Skiing, and the rest is history. And since a decorated sporting career wasn’t enough for this multi-sport multi-tasker, Dani is the co-founder of Culxtured (alongside fellow Paralympian and Parity athlete Brenna Huckaby), a media collective that focuses on making Paralympic sport mainstream. Remember y’all, it’s …AND PARALYMPICS.

All of these athletes are here to compete, and we can’t wait to watch and celebrate them as dreams are achieved in the weeks to come. Opening Ceremonies kick things off on March 6th, with an action packed schedule to follow. Looking for fun Paralympic content?
